Clinical Cases
In this section a clinical case is presented in stages (with about 5 - 7 steps). As the case is worked through a range of issues are examined including immediate assessment and treatment priorities, clinical features of life threatening illness, differential diagnosis, interpretation of critical investigations and acute management.
The library of cases will continue to be added to during the life time of the web site.
It is intended that the case is completed in the one sitting to avoid disrupting the flow and learning drawn from the case. A summary page at the end allows review of the major teaching points and is followed by a short test with feedback to assess individual learning.
Case studies vary in their difficulty and have been rated to assist selection based on clinical experience.
Most cases will take between 30 mins to 40 mins to complete.
