Procedural sedation
The course in Procedural Sedation provides a comprehensive introduction to the standards of care and core knowledge required for the administration of procedural sedation and analgesia in clinical practice.
All of the major pharmacological options for procedural sedation are discussed in detail including sedation using the intranasal, intravenous, intramuscular and inhalational routes. In addition the use of a variety of local anaesthetic techniques to complement these approaches are discussed in detail.
In the final chapter a series of clinical cases are presented to illustrate how procedural sedation is applied to the individual clinical case.

Each chapter is made up of 5 to 7 stages. Each stage begins with a brief discussion of the issue followed by an interactive question. Once the correct response has been identified the question feedback page opens providing a short discussion the issues raised in the question. The chapter ends with a test to assess individual understanding of the material covered in the module. A chapter takes about 30 minutes to complete.
